To many Commonwealth youngsters, the possibility of travelling to the UK is something they have always dreamed of. The problem with doing this is that it can be expensive, especially if you plan on staying for a long time. Thankfully, the British High Commission is allowing people between the ages of 18 and 30 to apply for the Youth Mobility visa, which is also known as the Tier 5 visa program. This visa allows a youth to live and work in the UK for up to two years.
In addition to the age restrictions, there are other requirements that must be met. You need to have the equivalent of 1600 GBP in a bank account (in your name) for at least three months prior to applying for the visa. You cannot travel with any dependents, and you must not have travelled in the UK before. After submitting a biometric scan and all paperwork, most visas are approved within a month.
