A First Grader’s Opportunity to Go to Antarctica

Everything from Legos to playing outside to messing around on the computer is what this boy likes including penguins. Everything from them waddling across the ice to them feeding their newly hatched chicks will be seen by this first grader in Antarctica early next month as he gets an opportunity to see his beloved birds in the wild. Where he and his parents are headed to is the Antarctic Peninsula where they will be joined by an internationally known explorer and filmmaker.

In this continent, only a few kids his age were able to reach the location. Because of such an exciting trip, his friends are also in celebratory mode. Their behavior can be justified by the fact that his classmates are coming too. Not in person, as the trip will take nearly three weeks and cost thousands of dollars, but via an Internet linkup. Their live video coverage will also be accessible for students across the world.
